The Brunswick County Republican Women’s Club will offer up to two $1,000 scholarships this year to young women who are graduating high school seniors, planning to attend college. Students at the Brunswick County High Schools, Brunswick Academy, Brunswick County Early College Program, private schools along with home schooled students are strongly encouraged to enter and will be judged with those students from their district’s public high school.
Applicants must submit a 500-550 word essay on the topic “Analyze the Constitutionality and Economic Impact of the Affordable Care Act.” Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the essay, academics, school and community involvement and communication skills. Application materials have been distributed to the guidance departments at each public high school and are available here as well.

Entries must be mailed by the guidance counselor, postmarked by Friday, April 11, 2014, and must be accompanied by the application form, two letters of reference (one from a teacher), high school transcript, and voter registration information.
