Helen Pannullo, NCFRW Coastal Region Vice President, installed the new 2012 Officers, including Kathy Lawler as President, Mary Ann McCarthy as Vice President, Sonja Conger as Secretary and Pat Sykes as Treasurer.
Kathy reviewed the club’s accomplishments in 2011, in particular, receiving from the NFRW its top honors, a Diamond Award.
Joan Kinney of Boiling Spring Lakes was the lucky winner of the iPad2 raffle, a fundraiser for the club that raised over $1000.
BCRW President Kathy Lawler distributed dictionaries to third graders at the Academy of Coastal Carolina as the club’s commitment to The Dictionary Project. In operation since 2002, The Dictionary Project is responsible for donating dictionaries to over 300,000 schoolchildren.
C.L. Gray, practising Physician, Chair and Founder of Physicians for Reform, discussed his latest book, Battle for America’s Soul, at the November meeting.
We face an immediate choice: do we look out for the needs of the individual patient or do we look out for the needs of the State? Obamacare looks out for the needs of the State, with frightening results. We must repeal it!

On September 23, 2011, Kathy Lawler, BCRW President, Ginny Quaglia, Billie Shelton, Chair of the Blue Star Mothers and Carol Painter competed on behalf of the BCRW in the First Annual Golf Classic. Ginny won Closest to the Pin for women in the overall tournament.
