NCGOP Report, January 30, 2012

Message from the Chairman
Well. Guess we all got the news that Bev Perdue will not be seeking re-election. Comes really as no surprise given her failed record and pending campaign scandal of her top campaign chiefs. And the day after, her second in charge Walter Dalton has not only declared his intention to run for governor, but also has stated he supports an $800 million tax increase. Sure does sound familiar doesn’t it?!?!
The NC Democratic Party is in scramble mode right now, but we will not take that for granted. Use that message to encourage folks to join the most robust, organized and ready to work state party in the nation.

We need strong, articulate Conservatives

I met Ilario at his first primary debate here in Wilmington.  It was great watching him blow the other candidates out of the water.  When it came to the issues that concerned the voters in 2010, I was impressed that this war fighter was also so well-spoken and had a keen understanding of each issue.  He knows exactly where he stands and he can tell you why.  Not only that, but he won’t back down from his beliefs just because someone criticizes or disagrees with him.  He is able to defend his beliefs and he doesn’t waver.  We need that so badly in Washington today!

NC Supreme Court Rules for DA Jon David

In the matter of David vs. Jolly, the NC Supreme Court found in favor or DA Jon David & vacated the April 2011 order by District Court Judge Jerry Jolly which had ended the traffic court program in Brunswick County.

Even in the name of its inherent power, the judiciary may not arrogate a duty reserved by the constitution exclusively to another body, nor may it violate the constitutional rights of persons brought before its tribunals. Furthermore, doing what is ―reasonably necessary for the proper administration of justice — means doing no more than is reasonably necessary. The court’s exercise of its inherent power must be responsible — even cautious — and in the spirit of mutual cooperation among the three branches.

The very genius of our tripartite Government is based upon the proper exercise of their respective powers together with harmonious cooperation between the three independent Branches.
